WHAT WE BELIEVE AND VALUE GUIDES OUR ACTIONS
As a volunteer organization, members of the Design Alliance for Accessible, Sustainable Environments, DAASE, agree at all times to conduct themselves in a manner that will encourage the respect of clients and customers, fellow DAASE members, and the public at large. It is the individual responsibility of every member of the Alliance to uphold this Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and support the Bylaws of the Alliance.

WE BELIEVE WE HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO THE PUBLIC
DAASE Members shall comply with the rules and regulations prescribed by law and government agencies to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the public and to comply with all federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations and codes governing business procedures. Members shall not engage in any form of false or misleading advertising or promotional activities. Members shall keep informed and remain knowledgeable regarding public policies and other essential information that may impact how they conduct their business.

WE HAVE AN INHERENT RESPONSIBILITY TO THE CLIENT
DAASE Members shall not undertake any professional responsibility unless they are, by training and experience, competent to adequately perform the work required. Members’ agreements and contracts shall clearly set forth the scope and nature of the project involved, the services to be performed and the method of compensation for those services.
Members at all time shall respect the opinions and beliefs of the client and demonstrate patience, trust and respect in all communications. Members shall comply with the spirit and letter of all contracts, and professionally manage all of those associated with Member’s operations including employees, subcontractors, and suppliers with fairness and honor. Members shall not divulge any confidential information that may be obtained during the course of their relationships with clients and customers.

WE HOLD A RESPONSIBILITY TO DAASE & ITS MEMBERS AND EACH OTHER
DAASE Members shall at all times support the activities of the organization and abide by the bylaws and policies of the organization and all decisions made by the governing Board of Directors. Members shall not injure nor attempt to injure, with malicious intent, either directly or indirectly, the professional reputation, practice, or employment of another DAASE member. Members shall be required to maintain all licenses and education required to professional perform those activities of their specific businesses.
Any deviation from this Code of Ethics, or any action taken by a member which is or may be seen as detrimental to DAASE and the organization shall be deemed unprofessional conduct and subject to consequences as determined by the governing Board of Directors.
